HOISINGTON — Clara Barton Medical Clinic welcomes Cassandra Montoya, PA-C. Her specialty is family medicine. Cassandra received her Physician Assistant degree at Wichita State University on July 29, 2011. She completed her undergraduate work at Kansas State University on Dec. 13, 2008, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
Montoya is already very familiar with Clara Barton as a former medical student under Dr. Robin Durrett’s leadership where she participated in a surgical rotation. Clara Barton Medical Clinic is pleased to announce that this past September, Cassandra joined Clara Barton Medical Clinic as a full-time provider.
Montoya is originally from Holyrood where her family still resides. When not working, Cassandra enjoys traveling, working out, listening to music and visiting her alma mater, Kansas State University. Montoya is excited about her new opportunity at Clara Barton Medical clinic, and said "This position is allowing me to gain more experience than I could have imagined in areas of medicine that I am interested in. The staff is incredibly helpful and the facility is well taken care of. Rural medicine is a challenge that school can’t necessarily prepare you for and I am ready to develop into that role of a rural provider."
The public is invited to a come and go reception to meet Montoya on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Turnbull safe room at Clara Barton Hospital, 250 W. 9th Hoisington.
