Demel selected for state symphony

laflin High School junior Tim Demel was selected second principal oboe chair in the Kansas Music Educators Association State Symphony Orchestra.

To qualify for the state groups, Demel first prepared the state selected audition materials for the Southwest District Band, was selected, and performed with the group at the high school district

Band performance.

He then attended district and live auditions for state. Students audition by number for a panel of judges, who then determine the roster for state groups. The state orchestra consists of students from all school districts, who represent the best student musicians in Kansas.
