ELLINWOOD —At its meeting on Monday, the Ellinwood District Hospital Board said they will continue to hold further meetings on the improvement project determining feasability and viability of the project, said Richard Kimple, president of the board. The board is considering upgrades and renovations to the hospital and clinic.
The hospital has recently received $192,500 in tax credits from the Kansas Department of Commerce for construction or renovation of the clinic. Penny Stephenson, chief financial officer, will attend a meeting on utilizing the credits in August.
Stephenson gave a report on the hospital statistics for June. In nearly every category, numbers are up.
"Everything keeps increasing," she said. She gave an interim cost report for the year so that the hospital can make the right moves to equal out at the end of the year. The hospital is making some adjustments due to increased number of patients.
The board approved a transfer of tax money to the hospital. It is required for the board to approve all transfers of tax money.
In final business, the board heard:
•Administrator Joyce Schulte and members of the management team attended a team building conference and came back with a lot of ideas.
•The board discussed trees on the property, saying that some of the trees need fertilizing.
•The annual budget hearing is in August.
