Church has fundraising ice cream social
ELLINWOOD — The Ellinwood United Methodist Church will hold its annual Old Fashion Ice Cream Social at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.  The free will offering will go towards "Imagine No Malaria."
Every 60 seconds, malaria claims a life in Africa. It kills an estimated 655,000 people each year, most of them children under 5 and pregnant women. Malaria is caused by a parasite transmitted through the bite of a female anopheles mosquito.  But, malaria is 100 percent preventable and treatable.  "Imagine No Malaria" is an ministry of The United Methodist Church, putting faith into action to end preventable deaths by malaria in Africa, especially the death of a child or a mother.
Come support this great cause to wipeout malaria and enjoy homemade ice cream.

Rotary Club accepting entries for parade for 40th year
ELLINWOOD — The Ellinwood Rotary Club is accepting entries for the After Harvest Festival parade  at 10 a.m. on July 20.
The theme is "Home Is Where Our Story Begins." Submit entries my July 15.
Awards will be given in the following categories: All-around, antique tractor, antique/class vehicle, commercial, most original, religious float, theme, youth entry and reunion.

Boy Scouts to have fabric drive
ELLINWOOD — The Ellinwood Boy Scouts are having a clothing and fabric drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. on June 8 at the Ellinwood American Legion.
The Scouts receive funds for the items.
