ELLINWOOD — Get out your costumes and try a variety of soups, chili or a hot dog on Halloween evening. Families can skip cooking supper that night.
The Ellinwood District Hospital will host a Trick or Treat and Eat fundraiser from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the Ellinwood Hospital Education Room. The cost is a free will donation.
“We’re trying to bring in families,” said Tenelle Nuest, radiology manager and marketing committee. “They know (the treats) are coming from a safe place.”
The Education Room will be decorated for Halloween, targeted for children, and the servers will be in costumes. Families are encouraged to come and to wear costumes as well.
After eating, the kids can enjoy a treat, which could be a popcorn ball or rice crispie treat, said Neust.
This is the first time the hospital has done a Halloween themed event, which they hope to make an annual event.
Donations benefit the hospital’s new website.
