ELLINWOOD — Mark your calendars for Nov. 11 to visit Ellinwood for the Holiday Open House and preview the latest gifts, colors and trends for the winter season .
“As the men are off hunting during opening weekend, grab your friends and head to Ellinwood for an afternoon of shopping with the girls,” said Nancy Baird, director of the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce. There will also be a surprise visit from Santa Claus at the Heritage Center and up and down Main Street.
Stores will be opened special hours from 1-4 p.m. with special discounts  throughout the businesses.
The Holiday Open House is a great time to view  new merchandise, visit the antiques stores of treasures of yesterday,  and start Christmas shopping. The Holiday Open house will also offer fun additions to shopping, with the United Methodist Women Delectable Dessert Event that will be set up inside the Fire Escape.
 For a small charge,you will be able to make a sampler plate of the many types of desserts for a variety of goodness.
While in Ellinwood stop by the Heritage Center where the Historical Society is hosting the Model Train Exhibit by the Golden Belt Model Railroad Association.
There will also be demonstrations, product specials, give-aways, and refreshments throughout many of  the Ellinwood businesses.
