Approximately 121 calls for service and 112 officer initiated calls were received for the month of January. Officers responded to 11 medical/fire calls. Ten arrests were made and four criminal summonses were served in the month of January.
Criminal & Accident Reports:
Jan. 4
James Whiting was arrested in the 100 block of East Santa Fe Boulevard on an Ellinwood Municipal Warrant. Whiting was transported to the Barton County Jail, where he was booked and confined in lieu of bond.
Jan. 5
Brandon Dannebohm was arrested in the 500 block of South Humbolt on a Barton County Warrant. Dannebohm was transported to the Barton County Jail, where he was booked and confined in lieu of bond.
Jan. 8
Shawn Immediato was served a criminal summons for criminal use of a financial card. Incident occurred in the 200 block of West First Street.
A juvenile was arrested in the 600 block of North Fritz for battery, child in need of care. Juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Justice Authority in Great Bend, where the juvenile was released to Juvenile Intake Officers.
A non-injury accident report was taken in the 300 block of North Schiller Avenue.
Jan. 11
A theft of motor fuel report was taken in the 100 block of East Santa Fe Boulevard. Jerry Bishop Jr. was served a criminal summons for the theft of the fuel.
Tyler Marbut was arrested in the 500 block of West Seventh Street for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia. Marbut was transported to the Barton County Jail, where he was booked and confined in lieu of bond. William Dunn, who was in the company of Marbut, at the time of the incident, was released and a case was filed with the Barton County Attorney’s Office for possession of drug paraphernalia. A hit and run accident report was taken in the 200 block of West Tenth Street.

A sexual assault report was taken in the 500 block of West Seventh Street.
A vicious animal report was taken in the 300 block of West Seventh Street.

A burglary report was taken in the 100 block of South Kennedy Avenue.

A theft of motor fuel report was taken in the 200 block of East Santa Fe Boulevard.

A dog bite report was taken in the 300 block of West First Street.
Christopher Whiting was arrested in the 400 block of East Santa Fe Boulevard on several Barton County Warrants. Whiting was also found to be in possession of methampethamine at the time of his arrest. Whiting was transported to the Barton County Jail, where he was booked and confined in lieu of bond.
A hit and run accident report was taken in the 200 block of East Second Street.

A theft of motor fuel report was taken in the 100 block of East Santa Fe Boulevard. A juvenile was found to have committed the theft of the fuel and a case was filed with the Barton County Attorney’s Office.

A criminal damage to property report was taken in the 500 block of Camille.

A harassment by telephone report was taken in the 200 block of East Second Street.
Jan. 23
A protective custody report was taken in the 300 block of Goethe Avenue.
A non-injury accident report was taken in the 300 block of East Fourth Street.

Jan. 25
Cody Smith was served a criminal summons for cruelty to animals. Incident occurred in the 500 block of East Fourth Street.

Jan. 27
A report for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance was taken in the 200 block of East Second Street.
A juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Justice Authority in Great Bend, where the juvenile was released to a Juvenile Intake Officer.
Jan. 28
Kari McBride was arrested in the 300 block of East E Street on a Great Bend Municipal Warrant. McBride was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a weapon and driving while suspended when he was arrested on the warrant. McBride was transported to the Barton County Jail, where he was booked and confined in lieu of bond.
Julia Ellis was arrested in the 500 block of South Bismark Avenue on a Barton County Warrant. Ellis was transported to the Barton County Jail, where she was booked and confined in lieu of bond.
A forgery report was taken in the 400 block of East Santa Fe Boulevard.
Jan. 29
The Ellinwood Police Department assisted the Great Bend Police Department with a search warrant, which was executed in the 100 block of South Kennedy Avenue. A report for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia was also taken while the search warrant was being conducted.
