HOISINGTON — Superior Essex in Hoisington announces the latest recipient of the STAR Employee Recognition Award. Gavin Klug, Jacketing Helper/Operator, was named the 4th Quarter 2010 STAR Employee and was recently treated to a luncheon in his honor, a customized gift pack, a plaque, and STAR Employee parking privileges.

The Superior Essex STAR Recognition Award Program is designed to quarterly recognize STAR employees (Superior Teamwork Attitude and Results) for their outstanding teamwork, service, attitude, performance, and commitment to achieving the plant’s goals. One award is given quarterly to an outstanding employee, and the selection is based on peer nominations.

Klug has worked at Superior Essex since January 2005. He consistently demonstrates all of the qualities expected of a ‘STAR’ employee such as above-average work quality, a positive attitude, assisting other employees, exceeding expectations, strong work ethic, dedication and dependability. His peer nomination read, "Klug has learned all aspects of his department and works well wall operators. He knows the process and is willing to learn any other job, from day to day he usually has different assignments and doesn’t know where he will be placed. When he is told, he smiles and reports to the assigned area without complaint. He maintains a high quality of work and cares about the product he makes. He really helps out in a department that is often times short-handed."

Mike Klepper, plant manager, said, "It is rewarding to have an employee like Klug. He is someone who sets a good example for all of those around him. He has a positive attitude that he shows each and every day, does a great job wherever he works, and is a dependable and loyal employee. He is very deserving to be this quarter’s STAR employee."
