HOISINGTON —A benefit fundraiser will be held for Mallory Flagor from 5-8 p.m. on June 23 at the Hoisington Activity Center, 1200 Susank Rd. The benefit will be a hamburger/hotdog feed.
The cost is $5 or a free will donation. Flagor will travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the national volley championships on June 28.
Flagor is a member of the volleyball team at Hoisington High School. She also plays on a club team for the Kansas Jets which qualified earlier this spring for the tournament in Atlanta. Only four teams from Kansas qualified for the national tournament.
Three teams from the Kansas City area qualified along with Flagor’s team which is the Kansas Jets. Other girls on the Jets team are from Manhattan, Junction City, Abilene, McPherson, and Salina. Flagor is the daughter of Earl and Julie Flagor of Hoisington. She is the only girl from western Kansas to qualify for nationals. This is the first time ever for a Jets team to qualify.
Celebrating Home, a Home and Garden Party Accessory company will donate 50% of all proceeds of anything purchased in the meeting room that night towards Flagor’s expenses.
"Help support one of many of our talented athletes in Barton County," said Tina Johnson, HHS volleyball coach. "This is a great accomplishment by Mallory and a great opportunity."
