HHS students place at Claflin

HOISINGTON —Hoisington High School forensics students competed and placed at the CPL league tournament at Claflin recently.
Olivia Lowry and Jacob Durrett placed first in improvised duet acting (IDA), qualifying for State. Lowry also placed second in oration, qualifying for State.  Shannon Manka and Durrett placed first in duet acting, qualifying for State.  Manka also placed fifth in informative speaking.  
Ashley Lockwood and Shae Bitter placed fourth in IDA.  Shae also placed fifth in serious solo acting.  Lockwood also placed sixth in prose.  
Larissa Donovan placed sixth in serious solo acting.  Melissa Pata placed seventh in poetry.  
Lowry and Manka have each qualified for State in five events.  Lockwood has qualified for State in four events.  Durrett has qualified for State in two events, and Bitter has qualified for State in one event.
Upcoming action for the Cardinals includes tournaments at Lincoln, Stafford, and Jetmore.
