HOISINGTON —Once again this year, Hoisington Main Street Inc. will hold a Family Fun Day, July 5.
Take a step back in time as the Post Rock Muzzle Loaders will be located north of Roto Mix on Friday evening and Saturday. This is a chance to experience and to expose people of today to the ways of the trappers and hunters, says Leland Rohr, Post Rock Muzzle Loaders member. There is no cost.
They will show life as it was pre-1840s. They will shoot guns, camp and cook.
Kids games will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at downtown Hoisington on Saturday. Games include sack races, a balloon toss, putt putt golf and hula hoops. This event is also free.
“This will be a great time to spend quality time with your children and connect with others in Barton County,” said Pat Horton, president of the HMSI board of directors. “There will be prizes for the children.”
“It will be old-fashioned, fun things,” said Horton.
From 8 to midnight on Saturday, there will be a street dance on Railroad Avenue east of Manweiler Chevrolet. The cover charge will be $5 and there will be full concessions and a beer garden.
The band will be Ronnie and the Rockets.
