HOISINGTON — In 1941, several believers in Hoisington organized a Bible class called the Hoisington Bible School. Every Sunday afternoon this group of 10 to 15 people met for service. In 1942, the church began to flourish and the name Hoisington Bible School was changed to Hoisington Bible Church (HBC). Eventually the need to incorporate led the church to file appropriate papers with the State of Kansas on August 26, 1943.
Since these early days, many people have been touched by the ministry of HBC. In celebration of Gods faithfulness over the 70 plus years, the church is hosting a Homecoming Reunion Labor Day weekend. The worship service will be held Sunday, Sept. 1 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and a catered luncheon will follow at 1 p.m. at the Hoisington Recreational Center. Friends and former members are invited to attend this special occasion. The church is located at 501 East 2nd Street in Hoisington. Guests planning to stay for the meal should RSVP by Thursday, Aug. 22.
