Hoisington forensics students honored

HOISINGTON — Hoisington High School student Ashley Lockwood was honored as the Outstanding Forensics Student recently at the Hoisington High School Cardinal Forensics Team Banquet.  Logan McHenry and Micaila Curtis were honored as the Outstanding Novice Forensics Students.
Shae Bitter, Brandy Bodine, Corbin Crawford, Kylie Crawford, Terance Croslin, Micaila Curtis, Nick Doerschlag, Ashley Lockwood, Austin McHenry, Logan McHenry, Kate Schmitt, Rebecca Shinofield, Robbie Willesden, and Kenzie Wolf earned forensics letters.
 At the banquet, Ashley Lockwood and Jordin Greer entertained with their serious duet.  Jadyn Spears read his prose.  Terance Croslin performed his serious solo, and Corbin Crawford performed his humorous solo.
At the State Championship, Ashley Lockwood and Jordin Greer advanced to semifinals and placed tenth in serious duet acting.  Ashley also placed fifteenth in oration.  Corbin Crawford competed in extemporaneous speaking; Logan McHenry and Kenzie Wolf competed in improvised duet acting;  Kate Schmitt competed in prose; Terance Croslin competed in serious solo acting; and Nick Doerschlag competed in informative speaking.
At the State Festival, Micaila Curtis and Brandy Bodine received a II rating with their improvised duet acting.  Micaila Curtis and Shae Bitter received a II rating with their duet act.  Emma Harmon received a II rating with her oration.
In earlier action, Jordin Greer and Ashley Lockwood performed their serious duet for the Heritage Club, and Terance Croslin performed his serious solo.  Ashley also performed her oration.
The team says good bye to four seniors:  Larissa Donovan, Erica Schwager, Jordin Greer, and Ashley Lockwood.
