HOISINGTON —On Saturday, Sept. 28, the Hoisington High School debate team will host the Garrett Blase Memorial Debate tournament.  Teams from Colby, Great Bend, Hays, Larned, Otis-Bison, Pratt, Salina-South, Sterling, and TMP-Marian are scheduled to compete in the open (varsity) tournament.
The team is in need of volunteers to judge.  Experience is not necessary, and training will be provided.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Mr. Oborny at the high school.
The Cardinal debate team this year is led by experienced debaters Shannon Manka, Brandy Bodine, and Robbie Willesden.  Novice (first year) debaters include Sydney Boxberger, Corbin Crawford, Emma Harmon, Joey Lewis, Logan McHenry, Kate Schmitt, Jaydn Spears, and Kenzie Wolf.
The Cardinals have tournaments scheduled at Lyons, Sterling, Hays, Pratt, Larned, Dodge City, Junction City, and Salina.  Additional tournaments will be added.  The team attended a workshop at Kansas Wesleyan University and plans to attend another workshop at Fort Hays State University.
