HOISINGTON — For the first time since 2007, the city of Hoisington will once again start having softened water.

After mechanical delays during upgrading the clarifier, Hoisington City Manager Jonathan Mitchell reported that the system began working Thursday.

Public Works Supervisor Paul Zecha said that the softened water will take about a week to work its way through the system, but that everything at the plant is good to go.
