The Kansas Board of Accountancy has announced that 90 candidates successfully passed the computerized examination in the October/November 2010 exam window.

As of January 2011, 11,287 individuals have been issued CPA certificates, of which 3,791 hold active permits to practice.

Passage of the national examination is the first step to becoming a certified public accountant. To be eligible to receive a permit to practice, an experience requirement must first be met.

Local students passing the examination include Nicole Zink and Danielle Hoffman, both of Claflin.
