Local orators place at Modern Woodmen contest

DODGE CITY — Speaking about “A Person Who Has Overcome,” two local orators  placed at a speech contest in Dodge City.
The first place winner was Leah Stein, a 7th grader from Dodge City. The second place winner was Marcie Schartz, a sixth grader from Great Bend, and the third place winner was Sarah Hammeke, a sixth grader from Ellinwood.
The contest was sponsored by the Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services organization.
