HOISINGTON — A new business, Cardinal T-shirts, has taken up residence, for now, in Hoisington’s Cardinal Pharmacy. Gene Mooney will print logos on T-shirts, polos, hoodies or jackets.

We "opened up a month ago and have been busy ever since," said Mooney. He currently has an assistant who helps with the logos.

A logo can be submitted to Mooney, or one can be designed. He also can scan existing logos.

Mooney said that he opened the business because he saw a lot of groups going outside of Hoisington for printing to larger cities.

There are only eight businesses in Kansas using the direct to garment printing that Mooney uses, he said. There is no set-up fee or minimum order, and the cost can run from $7 to $12 per item depending up the type of garment.

Mooney said that small orders of 10-20 shirts can be completed in a couple of days. He is planning on further expansion. "We’re hoping to move the business to its own location and run it as an independent business," said Mooney. "We’re hoping to be on Main Street for a long time."
