ELLINWOOD — Step into the deeper, darker reaches of the mind at the “Fine Wine , Good Friends and a Wicked Murder” at 6 p.m. on May 31 in Ellinwood at Lone Wolf Restuarant, the event opening the weekend for the 2nd annual June Jaunt. The cost of a ticket is $20 and only 50 will be sold and are available from the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce.
Murder mystery and wine tasting buffs can enjoy solving the crime while eating steak or chicken and sipping fine wine with the first ever Murder Mystery Dinner and Wine Tasting event. The wine will be from Indian Peak Vineyards and is sponsored by J. Basil Dannebohm. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation.
“The snacks and dinner play right into the murder mystery,” said Nancy Baird, Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce director.
The dinner is only one of the events that will occur May 31, June 1 and June 2. There will be sidewalk sales throughout the community and events for adults and children both.
Group tours of the historic underground world will occur at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Also, a new addition to the Saturday morning, June 1 run will be Color Fun. The 5K Color Fun Walk/ Run starts at City Park with 7:30 a.m. with registration. “There will be five different color stations,” said Baird. The participants will wear white shirts and be blasted with color powder. She said the Color Fun has become popular in the big cities.
The money raised will be used for local scholarships.
