HOLYROOD — USD 112 has hired a new principal for Central Plains-Wilson after the departure of Brian Smith. Randy Fox, Winfield, will begin his duties for the 2013-14 school year.
Fox will be moving to Wilson and has found a place to live.
He taught third and fourth grade, was a reading facilitator and elementary principal at Irving Elementary in Winfield for 15 years. Following that, he was an athletic director for two years at the middle school. For the last five years, he has been the high school assistant principal and athletic director.
In addition, he has coached volleyball, soccer, football, basketball, track and baseball in a wide variety of capacities.
“Being at all three levels (in one school), Wilson intrigued me,” said Fox. “It’s a perfect opportunity.”
His goals for Wilson include being a positing role member and a community members. He also said it’s a great place and wants to make it a better place.
Randy grew up in Burden, which is east of Winfield. His wife grew up in Winfield.
In his spare time, he likes to camp and enjoys watching his kids play sports. Fox’s son will be playing golf for Barton Community College this fall. Randy likes to spend a lot of time with family.
The principal’s wife and daughter will remain in Winfield for jobs and athletics.
