Jeffrey Wade Chapman’s sentencing hearing, schedule for 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, as been continued. It is now scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, April 9.
Chapman was found guilty of first-degree murder in the November 2011 shooting death of Damon Galyardt. After a jury found him guilty of the charge last February, Barton County District Judge Ron Svaty ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.
The hearing was reportedly postponed because defense attorney Kurt Kerns was unable to attend Monday due to illness.
