Credit Union of America’s Great Bend office celebrated 40 years of serving members by giving back over the last two months to members, non-members and charitable organizations. The 40-day celebration resulted in $23,160 being given to individuals and matching contributions to five chosen charities.
Individual winners were drawn daily and given $40 for each year they had been a member with the Credit Union. Non-members received $40 if they were randomly selected. Winners chose from a list of five charities as where to designate their matched donation. Kelly Higgins, Assistant Vice President of Retail Operations shared, “It was fun to recognize our members’ tenure and get them involved in the donations. We’re very proud to give back to our community after all of the years our community has supported CUA.”
Charities received the donations at a celebratory coffee, held on March 18, at the CUA office. They included: Great Bend Community Theatre- $1,600, Golden Belt Community Foundation - $2,200, Great Bend Zoological Society - $2,280, Barton Community College Foundation- $3,200, and Meals on Wheels- $13,880, for a grand total of $23,160.
