Area groups help decorate trees at Historical Museum

Andrew Nieman, Hunter Teel and Kylee Hallmark have finished stringing the popcorn and dried cranberry garland they made earlier, and prepare to hang ornaments on one of the many Christmas trees at the Barton County Historical Society in Great Bend Friday afternoon. The three are members of the Trinity Lutheran Church Discoveries class. Their group made the ornaments that adorn their tree for a craft project at an earlier meeting. Civic and church groups from around the county have signed up to decorate the trees scattered throughout the museums displays in anticipation of the Ghosts of Christmas Past event coming up Sunday, December 9. The event will include entertainment, nostalgia, music, decorations and special programs by area school children, and everyone is encouraged to attend this free event. - photo by Veronica Coons
