Barton Community College GED candidates line the hallway of the Fort Riley Conference Center on Thursday morning as they prepare to take the next step in their lives and educations. The graduates were a mix of Great Bend and Fort Riley students. Although only 27 chose to walk, more than 90 received their general equivalency diplomas from Barton this year. BCC President Dr. Carl Heilman addressed the students regarding their success, telling them it’s a sweet victory, but advised them not to settle and to continue to pursue education at the college level.
