A Great Bend man was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita late Monday morning after a one-vehicle collision on U.S. 281, 2 miles south of Great Bend. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 11:57 a.m.
Robert K. VanSkike, 49, was southbound in a 1999 Plymouth van when he failed to negotiate the curve. The van left the roadway and struck a tree. VanSkike was not wearing a seat belt.
The van was removed by Marshalls towing service.

Wesley officials had not released information on his condition as of Monday afternoon.
