WICHITA – A Great Bend man has been sentenced to over 19 years in federal prison for producing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said.
Shawn Marshal Christiansen, 38, pleaded guilty to producing child pornography. In his plea, he admitted that on Dec. 6, 2009, he engaged in a live streaming video in which he positioned a boy who was six years old in front of a Web camera. He pulled the boy’s pants and underwear down to expose the boy’s genitals. At the other end of the video was an individual in North Dakota, who recorded the video.
Agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement received a tip about the individual located in North Dakota, later identified as Christian Webb. While investigating Webb, agents found evidence that he had recorded the video of the boy from Christiansen.
From the images on Webb’s computer, ICE agents were able to identify both Christiansen and the boy. ICE agents analyzed Christiansen’s computer, where they found chat logs between Christiansen and Webb, in which Christiansen talked about the incident with the boy. Webb pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in North Dakota to receiving child pornography and he was sentenced to 12 years.
