HOISINGTON – Authorities here are continuing their investigation into the attack on a 4-year-old boy by a pit bull early Monday evening.
According to Hoisington Police Chief Kenton Doze,  the child was playing in a backyard at about 5:45 p.m. when the dog jumped the fence and mauled him. There were injuries to an arm and his face.
The child was first transported to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington and later transferred to a Wichita hospital.
Doze said the dog owner faces charges involving a vicious dog. The animal was seized by officers and taken to Hoisington Veterinary Clinic where it was put down.
