Hoisington resident injured in Sunday wreck

HOISINGTON — Twenty-five-old Burt Thompson, 209 E. 1st, of Hoisington was injured in a single car accident at 3:08 p.m. Sunday afternoon  in the 900 block of NW 10 Ave.
Thompson was driving a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix north.
Thompson lost control of the vehicle after over correcting. The vehicle went into a sideways skid and entered the west ditch. The vehicle then struck the embankment, which caused it to go airborne. The vehicle rolled at least one-and-one-half times and came to rest in the field on the west side of NW 10 Ave.
Thompson was taken by Hoisington ambulance to Clara Barton Hospital and transferred to Wesley Medical Center by air due to the severity of the injury to his head, according to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office. BCSO was assisted by Hoisington EMS and Fire.
