HOISINGTON – As of late Friday afternoon,  authorities were on the look out for a suspect in the robbery of a church in Hoisington.
Authorities said the church was robbed at 10:30 a.m. Friday and the victim said he thought he saw a gun in one of the suspect’s waist band.
According to Hoisington Police Chief Kenton Doze, a man wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, accompanied by a female in an orange miniskirt, possibly named Marie, stopped into a church on Main Street in Hoisington and asked for money to pay for utilities.
They refused a check, insisting on cash. There was cash on the desk, which they took, and left the building.
The victim told police a weapon may have been in the male suspect’s waist band.  The couple left the scene in a white minivan that may have had Colorado plates and headed north on Main Street. There were no other witnesses.
The first “be on the look out” was issued at 11 a.m. with the second coming in the mid afternoon.
