Sales tax passes in Hoisington, Claflin

The communities of Hoisington and Claflin both pursued sales tax adjustments this election and both communities approved that.
Hoisington requested one-fourth of one percent increase to bring it level with Great Bend. It passed 511 to 275.
The city will use the funds for infrastructure improvements.
In Claflin, voters also approved one-half of one percent increase by a vote of 151 to 55. The funds will be used to keep the mill levy down and infrastructure improvements.
