Suspected drugs and an illegal weapon were among items seized Monday when the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Great Bend Police Department executed a search warrant at 1427 16th St. Apt. A in Great Bend.
Police records show officers were at the apartment at 7:46 p.m.
The raid was announced Tuesday with a statement from Kelly W. Ralston, Special Agent in Charge, Special Operations Division of the KBI office in Great Bend, and Police Chief Dean Akings. They reported the warrant was executed without incident.
“Law enforcement officers seized methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a variety of ammunition, an illegal weapon and electronic devices, all believed to be used in trafficking of illegal drugs and weapons,” the news release stated.
Four individuals were inside the apartment but only one was arrested at the time, and that was on a Great Bend Municipal Court warrant.
Records show Jose Trejo, 29, of Great Bend was booked into the Barton County Jail on a GBMC warrant for contempt of court, with no bond, as he must serve 180 days.
Details of the investigation will be provided to the Barton County Attorney’s Office and formal charges are anticipated. Officials said no other details are being released at this time with the investigation ongoing.
