Alicia Straub of Ellinwood won over Ken Lebbin in the race for county commissioner of the fourth district. The vote was 1,231 for Straub to 448 for Lebbin.
Both candidates are Republicans.
In May of this year, Lebbin was appointed to that position by a Republican Convention after the death of then-commissioner Don Cates in a plane crash.
Both Straub and Lebbin ran in the August primary, which Straub won by 21 votes.
Because of the close numbers, Lebbin chose to run a write-in campaign for this election.
“I have to congratulate her,” said Lebbin. “We both pursued an upfront, respectful campaign. As close as the primary was, I had to give it another try.
“I’ll continue to do my job on the commission,” said Lebbin.
Straub could not be reached for comment.
