The City of Great Bend has obtained a nuisance animal permit from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and will begin efforts in controlling burrowing animals on the levee. Be advised that the areas where burrows are found could potentially have traps set. City officials ask that pets be leashed while on the hike/bike path, especially at the 10th Street trailhead.
