GBPD gets new internet site
new re Police Website
The Great Bend Police Department has gotten a new website for the department. People can visit the site at greatbendpolice.com.

The department
The Great Bend Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the city of Great Bend. With 30 full-time commissioned officers, four non-commissioned personnel and seven part-time personnel, the department provides 24-hour police services 365 days a year.

Keeping up with today’s technology and social media plays an important role for many city organizations and businesses and this is exactly what the Great Bend Police department has done. The department has moved from the city’s website to its own.
“This website is a great feature for the department,” Lt. Scott Harper said. “We wanted to expand from our current site, which was part of the city’s webpage, to provide more information to the public and to keep them up to date with the department.”
The web page’s features allows the public to search for information. These features include: frequently ask questions section, photos, department divisions, special units section and programs section.
“So far the public has commented on how nice the site is and they are please to see the department having their own web page that they can visit.” Harper said.
One nice feature of the web page in the compliments and complaints section. It explains how members of the public can express their gratitude toward the officers on a job well done, or if someone has a complaint they can find the information on how to voice that as well.
“We strive to be a professional agency, and we want to know if you feel that you’ve been treated unfairly. If you would like to report a concern, there are several ways you can do so,” Chief Cliff Couch said. “And if you would like to commend an officer for their actions, you can do so by sending an email or speaking with any supervisor at the department.”
