One injured in Pawnee County Crash

The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to an injury crash at 1:36 p.m. Monday, 4 miles east of Burdett on K-156 in Pawnee County.
According to reports, a 2012 Freightliner semi-truck driven by Cornelius Peoples, 44, of Independence Mo., was eastbound on K-156 when the truck left the roadway onto the south shoulder. Peoples corrected back on to the roadway, went left of center and over-corrected, causing the vehicle and trailer to overturn. The vehicle slid to a stop on K-156 blocking both lanes of traffic.
Peoples was wearing his seat belt and taken to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital for his injuries.
