Panther Bands present Pre-Contest Concert

Panther Band members will present their Pre-Contest Concert at 7 p.m. on March 13 in the GBHS Gym. The Varsity and Junior Varsity Bands are preparing for their Large-Ensemble Contest which is the following day, March 14.
Selections the Panther Jazz will play are Now’s the Time, The Way You Look Tonight, The Girl from Ipanema, and Scarborough Fair. Junior Varsity Band members will perform Citadel, Antares, Suite Espana, Cumberland Cross, and Nimrod from “Enigma Variations.” Varsity Band will perform the medley from Lion King, Miss Liberty, The Light Eternal (based on God of Our Fathers), and Trail of Tears.
The public is also invited to the band contest which starts at 8 a.m. on March 14 in the GBHS gym. The Varsity Band will play first followed by the Junior Varsity Band at 9 a.m. Judge/clinician is Dr. William McMosley from Salina.
The bands are directed by Mark DeWald and he is assisted by Isaac Enochs and Kurtis Koch. The concert is free to the public and everyone is invited to attend.
