Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Our library now has a computer specifically for telemed. Patrons who need to see a doctor can set up a virtual appointment with them then come in and use our computer to do the appointment. Patrons will need to know how to operate a computer,  how to login to their email, and operate Zoom by themselves. Staff will not be able to assist patrons with the telemed service, due to health and privacy concerns. Now that school is back in swing here in Great Bend, we need to remind parents and caregivers, that no public place is 100% safe for unattended children, including the library. A primary mission of the Great Bend Public Library is to provide a positive, safe, and convenient facility for patrons and staff.

Children under the age of 10 shall be attended and adequately supervised at all times by an accompanying adult, age 16 or older. Any child who is sick and cannot attend school should remain at home and not be in the library. 

Although staff are available to assist and provide general guidance, the library does not provide childcare services. Children are encouraged to use the library for homework, recreational reading and attending programs. Staff is happy to help children use the library for finding materials and by providing programs. If you have an older child and or teen coming to the library please be aware that we do not have phones for public use. 

We would also like to remind patrons that although we are open and have computers available for patron use, some services are still not available. Study rooms and meeting rooms are unavailable to the public at this time. Seating in the library is limited. Socially distanced computers are available. Toys, play areas, magazines, newspapers, and puzzles are not available.
