Courtesy Photo Connie Carlton meets with Bill Fairchild to turn over the food for the Fort Larned Lions Club Christmas Basket Project.

In cooperation with Bill Fairchild of the Fort Larned Lions Club, area members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have collected 134 non-perishable food items for the benefit of the people in Larned.
The food will become part of the Fort Larned Lions Club Christmas Project.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its Welfare Plan.
Today this program reaches out to the poor and the needy all over the world, regardless of their religious affiliation.
To honor this celebration, members of the Great Bend Ward, which has members in Great Bend, Larned, Hoisington, Saint John, Lyons, and other cities in a five-county area worked together to donate the food.
