LARNED — Larned High School students, staff, and community members gathered around the flagpole at Larned High School for the nationally recognized See You at the Pole gathering Sept. 28. The group gathered together to pray for their school, their community, and the world in which they live.
The Larned High School chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) sponsored the event and served doughnuts and juice immediately following the gathering.
FCA is an organization where like-minded students at LHS come together for reflection, fellowship, and fun. Each Friday morning, a CORE group of LHS FCA students lead other students in devotions, small group discussions, and activities. FCA’s name suggests is for athletes at LHS, but anyone is welcome to join. Actors, academics and artists are all members.
FCA supports and advocates the One Way to Play, drug-free program, which bases its foundation on faith, commitment, and accountability.
This year, FCA will be focusing its attention on promoting integrity, service, teamwork, and excellence for all those students involved.
Each month, FCA sponsors an event for the Larned High School student body. In September, a hayrack ride and bonfire were held at the Zach Wilson farm.
The next event will be a Scary Movie Night scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 30 at the high school.
