LARNED GIRLS 43, NICKERSON 28
LARNED — Larned’s girls broke the game open with a game-ending 17-3 scoring run for a 43-28 Central Kansas League basketball victory over Nickerson.
Larned led 26-25 near the end of the third period after Sophie Mader scored five straight points. The Indians finished the game with a dominating 17-3 streak. Five Indians scored in the fourth period.
Haley Skelton scored 13 points for Larned (4-14, 2-7 CKL) and Kelsey Parr added nine points. Nickerson (4-14, 1-8 CKL) was paced by Mader with 14 points and Tara Davis added four points.

NICKERSON 57, LARNED 56
LARNED — Nickerson’s Braden Stewart converted the game-winning 10-foot jumper as time expired to shock Larned 57-56 in a Central Kansas League basketball game. Larned used two fouls to shorten the time for the Panthers, who lobbed the basketball to Stewart.
Larned’s Isiah Perez scored on a driving shot for a 56-55 lead with seven seconds left. Nickerson’s Austin Engelland drilled a 3-pointer for a 55-54 lead with 13 seconds left in regulation. The Indians (12-6, 6-3 CKL) made 4 of 9 free throws in the fourth period.
Cody Casey scored 14 points and Engelland scored 13 points for Nickerson (5-12, 3-6 CKL). The Panthers outscored the Indians 24-15 from 3-point range.
