Larned tennis to play at home

LARNED — Larned High’s girls tennis team is coached by Mark Lessard. Larned opens at home at 3 p.m. Thursday at Doerr-Vernon Park and Moffet Stadium. No. 1 singles and doubles will be played at Doerr-Vernon Park. No. 2 singles and doubles will be plated at Moffet Stadium. The courts at Doerr-Vernon were not available last fall.
Senior standout Amanda Lessard played doubles last year with Alexis Langdon, who has graduated.

Larned started the season by placing second at Dodge City’s junior varsity tournament. No. 2 doubles Macy Haas and Katelyn Sanger placed first. No. 1 singles Abby Kelty placed fourth and No. 2 singles Kristin Anderson placed runner-up. No. 1 doubles Jorgie Kimble and Casey Danler finished seventh. The JV plays again Sept. 10 at Great Bend.
