KINGMAN — Larned High won its first Central Kansas League volleyball match with a hard-fought 25-22, 19-25, 25-20 victory over Barton County rival Hoisington.
Larned (3-6, 1-0 CKL) lost to state-ranked Kingman 25-12, 25-14 in a match that did not qualify as a CKL match.
The Indians journey to Hoisington Thursday to meet Ellinwood and Hoisington.
Hesston (11-0) is ranked second in Class 3A and Hillsboro (5-2) is ranked third. Pratt (7-5) is ranked seventh in Class 4A-Div. 2 and Smoky Valley (6-4) is ranked eighth.
