LARNED — Ruth Searight, Pawnee County Clerk and Election Officer, reports the deadline for filing for the Democrat and Republican Primary is June 2.
Both the Democrat and Republican Primary’s are closed this year.
If you have declared (affiliated) with a party before July 1, 2014, you may not change your party affiliation until after the State Board of Canvassers have Certified the Primary Election.
If you are Unaffiliated, you may declare your Party at any time, including when you go to vote

TIMELINE
Monday, June 2, 2014 (Noon)—Candidate deadline to file or withdraw              
Monday, July 1, 2014—HB 2210 becomes effective. Beginning of period when Changing Party Declaration
is prohibited; Unaffiliated voters may affiliate at any time
Tuesday, July 15, 2014—Voter registration deadline for primary.
Last day to register for primary or update registration (name, address, phone, gender)
Wednesday, July 16, 2014—Advance voting begins.
Tuesday, August 5, 2014—Primary Election
Friday, Aug. 29, 2014—State Board of Canvassers Certifies Primary (tentative, deadline is Sept. 1. National and State Offices, and 24th Judicial District Judge, file with the Secretary of State. County Offices file with the Pawnee County Clerk.
