LARNED — The Pawnee County Humane Society has started its holiday push for donations through a variety of gift giving and fundraising ideas.
“During the holiday season you have a chance to give and receive while you give to the homeless animals,” said Donna Morgan, Pawnee County Humane Society assistant secretary. “Take a look at the new shirts, calendar, and many other gift ideas from the Pawnee County Humane Society. Remember, 100 percent of your purchase goes to help the shelter animals.”
Morgan said donations help care for the adoptable pets.
“Adoptable dogs and cats may not yet have their “forever” home or a loving family this holiday season, but you can help him and his friends during their stay at the shelter,” she said. “Thank you for giving a gift for the homeless animals.”
Other Ideas
Make a gift donation to the shelter in the name of a friend or family member. Ask a friend or family member to give a gift in your name.
It’s the present for that hard-to-buy for person. Cash donations may be in any amount; even the smallest amount will help a dog or cat by providing medication, toys, and much more.
“Please remember how much we appreciate items donated from our wish list, especially: cat litter, bleach, paper towels, dog and cat toys, cat food, cleaning supplies and gift cards,” Morgan said.
Humane Society Calendar
Bring in the New Year in style with our annual wall calendar featuring full-color photos of animal companions in our community, and also some “unique” local pets. It’s a great gift and, at only $10 each, a very inexpensive one, too.
Calendars are available at the shelter during business hours or at State Farm Insurance and Carr Auto Electric.
Cookbook — Pawsitively Tasty
The cookbook features 350 recipes submitted by residents of Pawnee County and the surrounding area with illustrations by Mary Alice Skelton. This is a great gift idea and only $12.
Sweatshirts, T-Shirts
You’ll be showing your support for the PCHS every time you wear one of these shirts. Buy one for yourself or get several as gifts for friends and family. You’ll be giving to the shelter animals every time you do. Sweatshirts are $20, hoodies $25, and t-shirts $12.
Santa Paws Tree
Homeless animals in Pawnee County will benefit this season thanks to the Santa Paws tree.
The tree is up at the shelter collecting supplies and items needed to help care for lost and homeless animals.
Anyone can take an ornament card from the tree and provide the item or items on the card. All donations will be used to care for the animals in the care of the Pawnee County Humane Society.
The shelter is located at 1406 M5 Road. Items can be dropped off at the shelter. For information, contact Pawnee County Humane Society, 620-285-8510.
