Quilting Bees meet, discuss upcoming events

Members of the Quilting Bees guild met on Nov. 16. In the absence of the president, Virginia Bauer and Alice Clapsaddle chaired the meeting. Announcements included the Dec. 7 Christmas dinner and party at 6:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church. Members are to bring a dish to share and a gift to exchange. The snowflake fat quarters will be drawn as well as the friendship blocks.

Additional announcements included the fact that a new quilt shop, "Stitches," has opened in McPherson, the Barton Community College "Sunflower" Quilt Show will continue until Dec. 10 and the Quilting Divas’ Sale on Nov. 20.

Thank you greetings have been extended to the guild for the 100 dog kerchiefs (70 made by Becky Obermiller) from the Pawnee County Humane Society and for all the hand-made items donated for the Breast Cancer Awareness auction in October. Diann Morell and Lavada Kraft distributed the new yellow T-shirts to those who ordered them. Members ended the meeting by working on quilts for the Lions’ Christmas Baskets.
