Roses for Ruth
Faye Gaines, at right, of Point of Rocks Ranch, New Mexico, a national historic site, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Santa Fe Trail Association. The presentation was made by Dr. Leo Oliva, an eminent historian and professor emeritus from Fort Hays State University. Mrs. Gaines received the honor during the Sept. 17 evening meeting of the SFTA Rendezvous, at the Haas Building in Larned. She also presented the program for the evening. Point of Rocks is near Springer, N.M.
