LARNED — You may see a friendly face around Barton and Pawnee County this summer as the United Way of Central Kansas, Eldercare Inc., Volunteers in Action/RSVP and the Family Crisis Center welcome Larned High School graduate Alex Lessard as their summer intern.
Within the first month of her internship, she has assisted with Make a Movement, the Santa Fe Trail Days Duck Race, Out and About radio show, live radio remote and United Way of Central Kansas Local Super Hero video.
“We wish Alex luck and look forward to what she will bring to our community,” said Julie Smith, United Way of Central Kansas director.
Alex is a junior at Kansas State University, majoring in journalism and mass communications in the public relations sequence. Because of her active involvement in her school and community, she plans to pursue a career in nonprofit public relations.
She is the daughter of Mark and Sharon Lessard of Larned.
