LARNED — The Santa Fe Trail Center Museum and Research Library is currently recruiting volunteers to join their team of docents.
“These volunteers are an integral part of the museum’s education program for visiting school classes,” said Becca Hillier,  Santa Fe trail Museum education director. “Without their help the museum would be unable to accommodate the large number of groups that tour the museum each year, especially during April and May. This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity for those who love history and enjoy teaching others.”
Training is provided which includes opportunities to follow more experienced tour guides before leading a solo tour themselves. Training sessions are scheduled March 12 and March 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. New docents should plan to attend both sessions.
For information, contact Hiller at educationdirector@santafetrailcenter.org; or call 620-285-2054. To learn more about the museum, visit www.santafetrailcenter.org. You can also follow the Santa Fe Trail Center on Facebook.
