LARNED — The regular monthly meeting of the Welcome Inn Leisure Center Inc. was called to order by President Charles Wonsetler, on July 3 at 12:40 p.m.
In addition to Charles Wonsetler, the following board members were present: Ben Appel, vice-president; Jim Forrest, Treasurer; Karlene Meckfessel, financial secretary; Betty Tauscher, secretary: Thelmarie Wilhite, historian and Roger Haberman, reporter.   
Faye Trent, G.L. Vonfeldt, Bobbie Sharrock, Mona Marie Wysong, Byron Stilts, Amy Bauer and Carl McKittrick were guests.
Faye Trent, Grant Administrator for the Great Plains Development, Inc., discussed what we need to do, things needed etc, if we were to apply for a grant to replace the present building the Welcome Leisure Center is in. She also announced numerous questions.
Jim Forrest reviewed the Welcome Inn money situation as of June 30. and as in most end of the month summaries, we have less money to work with than we had at the end of the prior month. Simply, we spend more money most months than we take in. Jim Forrest also gave the treasurer’s report. All bills were allowed.
July 1 was the last yoga class, as monies had run out. The participants voted to pay for the 30-minute class if this worked out with the Instructor, Jill Hutchins. Jill agreed to this arrangement. The classes will continue with each paying $2 for each Monday morning session.
The drawing for the Picnic Basket was held during the Birthday & Anniversary Dinner on June 20. Sharon Wing won the basket. Sharon’s sweet voice is the one you hear when you call the Welcome Inn on Tuesday between 8 and 10 a.m. Congratulations Sharon.
The Chamber of Commerce coffee will be held Aug. 8 at the Welcome Inn. In addition the fall Garage and Bake Sale will the be held on Sept. 21 at the Welcome Inn.
The next carry in dinner is scheduled for July 14th with Gladys Salmons and Jean Vratil being the hosts. The carry in dinner held on June 9 with Valeta Milhon and Roger Haberman hosting, had a nice turnout and a lot of food.
The meeting adjourned at 2:35 p.m. and will meet again on Aug. 7 at 12:45 p.m.
