The annual Chocolate Affair hosted by Kinsley PEO chapter CQ will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Feb. 4, at the Kinsley United Methodist Church, 803 Marsh St. This event offers everyone a much-needed escape from the cold dreary days of winter. A beautiful buffet of chocolate desserts for sampling as well as a chocolate fountain with many items for you to cover in chocolate are the centerpieces of
this event.
The selection of desserts are unique and quite varied. “It is our goal to offer a wide variety of chocolate desserts, not just brownies and chocolate cake. Most members use this event to select and prepare especially decadent recipes.” says Jennifer Gleason, co-chair of the event. Gleason also wants to remind everyone about the “Take One Home” table. This is an opportunity to purchase whole desserts to take home with you. There are also some smaller quantities available. Many will be suitable to freeze for a special occasion.
Those who attend will also be treated with beautiful decorations and a fun atmosphere to escape the monotony of the winter months. “This event often has the effect of taking your breath away when you see the amazing buffet and the beautiful decorations.” says, Gleason. In past years, groups such as the Red Hat Ladies have chosen to gather at the Chocolate Affair. Others have car-pooled from neighboring
communities for a fun outing. Gleason suggests that groups of 10 or more call ahead so that accommodations can be made for them.
PEO promotes and supports higher education opportunities for women in the U.S. and abroad. Proceeds from this event are used to fund scholarships awarded on a local, national and international level.
Tickets can be bought for $5 at the door or from PEO members by calling the number listed below. For more
